- Brown seasoned pork in the hot oil; add sliced onion and minced garlic and saute for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium and add next 4 ingredients. Bring to a simmer, cover and simmer for 1 hour.
- Add carrots and simmer, covered, for 40 minutes. Add green beans and corn, along with the liquid in each can, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove bay leaves.
- Blend together water and cornstarch; stir into stew and cook for 2 minutes to thicken.
